Hayabusa-2 space probe by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) returned to Earth on December 6th, 2020. After traveling more than 300 million kilometers from Earth six years ago for a mission to collect rock and dust samples from the asteroid “Ryuku”. It is a success of the aerospace development in Japan. Hayabusa-2 will head toward new mission to observe and photograph another two asteroids, the 2001 CC21 in 2026 and the 1998 KY26 in 2031. NTN Bearings (Spherical plain bearings) were mounted in the joint of solar panel of "Hayabusa-2". In the space, bearings cannot use oil or lubricants. NTN has developed bearings coated by special surface treatment to support the advancement of aerospace.
